Kit and Alex discuss their reporting on Centuria and the Azov Batallion, NATO-trained neo-Nazi groups that have dominated the Ukrainian military for the better part of a decade.
Please don't forget: the Nazis were out to kill Slavs too, especially Russians, as "die untermenschen," "the sub humans." The difference was that it was not to be complete extermination, but keep the strong, healthy ones for manual labor. This too does not get sufficient coverage in Western, especially US, media, due to the stereotype of Slavs as dumb, backwards, only good for manual labor, and, as for Russians, well, we hate them too, don't we? (Sarcasm) Look at the ugly stereotypical portrayals in the entertainment media, stand up comics, etc. Many Slavs died in the Nazi camps, others shipped to Germany as labor, and, of course, the killings of civilians in WWII. Ukrainian collaboration with the Nazis in WWII - not all Ukrainians, of course, but too many - was glossed over insofar as the collaboration was, in part, due to anti-Russian hate.
